Toledo, Ohio — Zach Karpuszka, the band director at All Saints Catholic School, has died, leaving students, colleagues, and members of the Toledo community mourning his loss.
Karpuszka was known for his passion for music education and his dedication to mentoring young musicians. During his time at All Saints, he worked closely with students to develop not only their musical skills, but also confidence, teamwork, and creativity. Family members described him as a caring educator who consistently encouraged students to reach their potential.
Under his direction, the All Saints band became known for its energetic performances and active role within the school and wider community. Colleagues and parents said his influence extended beyond the classroom, with many students continuing their involvement in music at the high school level and beyond.
Plans for a memorial service are currently being made, with details to be announced. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be directed to local music education programs in honor of Karpuszka’s commitment to the arts.
As the Toledo community reflects on his passing, Karpuszka is being remembered for the lasting impact he made as an educator, mentor, and advocate for music education. His legacy continues through the students he inspired and the programs he helped strengthen.
